Jill Morehead brings nearly two decades of nonprofit and humanitarian leadership experience to the Board, with a career centered on advancing economic resilience, strengthening communities, and supporting vulnerable populations in complex environments. Through senior
roles with Mercy Corps and United Nations Development Program, she led and supported multi-million-dollar emergency response and development programs across the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. Her work focused on food security, market-based recovery, and
cash transfer programming, including designing innovative assistance programs, conducting needs and market assessments, and guiding cross-functional teams in high-pressure crisis settings. Jill has collaborated extensively with governments, donors, and community stakeholders to deliver impactful, scalable solutions, and has contributed to sector-wide best practices through training, technical guidance, and program design.
In addition to her international nonprofit experience, Jill is a small business owner and active member of the Des Moines community. As the founder of Critter Sitter Pet Sitting, she has built a trusted, client-focused business from the ground up, developing systems for client onboarding, relationship management, and service delivery while maintaining a strong
reputation for reliability and care.


Currently working in financial planning, Jill applies a detail-oriented and client-centered approach to supporting individuals and families in achieving their financial goals. Jill holds a Master of Science in Family Financial Planning from Iowa State University, where she
was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, as well as a Master of Arts in Sustainable Development from the School for International Training and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Drake University. Deeply committed to service, Jill brings a global
perspective, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for community impact to her role on the Board, supporting our organization’s mission through thoughtful leadership and a collaborative approach.
