We had a table at University of Iowa Student Org engagement Fair.

We talked to the students and spread awareness about period poverty and it’s impact, especially on students.

East Back 2 School Night

We were at East High School – Des Moines Back-to-School Night

We gave away over 500 period products in form of period packs!!

We provided students n families with free menstrual products in period packs to remove the barrier period poverty places between students and their academic success.

We also spread awareness about period poverty and it’s impact, especially on students.

DMRS Back to School Free Store events

We were at Drake University , Olmsted Center for DMRS(Des Moines Refugee Support)’s annual Back To School Free Store (BTSFS) event from 10AM-2PM.

This was our 3rd Year @ the Des Moines Refugee Support Back to School Free Store❣️

We gave out almost 4k period products which was almost 400 period packs‼️

Waukee Back to School Family Resource Fair

We attended Waukee’s Back to School Family Resource Fair and distributed 110 free period packs, totaling 2.2k products, to students and families.

Period Packing Party @ITA Group

We were at the ITA Group Headquarters!

ITA volunteers made period packs for our ‘Back to School’ event and other school partnerships. In 2 hours they packed over 1K period packs for our organization, using about 12.5K period products.

80-35 Music Festival

We were at the 80-35 Music Festival in downtown at Western Gateway Park, Des Moines, IA with a booth to talk about our cause and organization! We had fun educating and spreading awareness about menstrual cycle and period poverty

We had a booth at the 20th annual CelebrAsian Festival for two days to spread awareness about our organization through period trivia and a Spin-the-Wheel with prizes! It was an incredible experience and thank you to everyone who came and talked with us!!

Cinco De Mayo Festival

We had a booth at the 17th annual Cinco De Mayo Festival to spread awareness about our organization through fun games like Spin-the-Wheel and trivia (with prizes!). It was such a great experience and thank you to everyone who came and talked with us!!

Outreach Event at the University of Iowa College of Public Health

Our first Iowa City Event was a success!!! Love For Red partnered with the Community & Behavioral Health Student Association and Maternal & Child Health Student Interest Group at the University of Iowa to present our organization, play jeopardy, watch videos, and discuss period poverty. We had really great conversations and story sharing about menstruation and period poverty!

Day on the Hill: Legislative Day

2/15/23

Love For Red took on the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines! This was the first step in our advocacy journey! We spoke with many Iowa State Senators about legislation regarding free menstrual products in Iowa. Thank you to everyone who talked to us and thank you to everyone who advocated with us! It was such a great experience and we cannot wait to dive more into our advocacy journey!
