Hy-Vee Tabling with WRAC

Love For Red partnered with the Women’s Resource and Action Center at the University of Iowa to table at Hy-Vee and collect menstrual product donations from shoppers. It was a great way to spread awareness about period poverty and we were very successful in our drive!

Waukee School Board Meeting

Love For Red spoke with the Waukee School Board at their School Board Meeting to educate them about the issue of period poverty and how it is affecting their students and other students in Iowa.

Des Moines Refugee Support’s Back to School Free Store

Love For Red participated for a second year in a row in the Back to School Free Store hosted by Des Moines Refugee Support! Period products are just as important of a school supply as notebooks and pencils!

Let’s Talk Period Poverty

We hosted our first community outreach event to educate the public about periods, the stigma behind them, the issue of period poverty, our work with period poverty, and the legislative work being done for it. Thank you to Senator Claire Celsi, Rachel Manna from Urban Dreams, La Luz Centro Cultural, and Molly Watkins from Waukee High School for being our Guest Speakers, and thank you to everyone who came to our event!
